Created to protect a part of Lazio, the historical significance and natural beauty of which has been recognised by UNESCO, the National Park of Circeo lies between Anzio, where the Emperor Nero habitually passed his summer holidays, and Gaeta, a pretty fishing village almost dwarfed by its magnificent medieval Castle.
